CRANWELLIAN POWs WWII
With tributes to the four Cranwellians to win a VC and the two to win the GC, this album catalogues the honours and awards received by Cranwellians during their RAF careers. The data cut-off is mid-1970s when upkeep of such records ceased at the RAF College.

Having recorded the names of nearly 28,000 cadets, SFTS aircrew, GE, IOT and IOTC graduates to heve been trained at the RAF College, the album attempts to portray the throughput of training during the College's 100 year history. The analysis is approximate, giving trends by decade, and data on later years is still awaited.

Very much WIP, this album attempts to record different generations of families that have undergone officer training at the RAF College.

In the early days of the RAF College, flight was still in its infancy and inevitably there were many accidents. We discovered a large number of photos in the College archive that cover accidents in the early years and have since attempted to complete the story with recent information on more accidents.

This album reproduces the photographs of an album on dislpay in the College Library area. It records all the aircraft that Sir Frank Whittle is alleged to have flown.

Plagiarising material held and produced in the College and the RAF Club, this album summarises Sir Frank Whittle's pioneering work on the Jet Engine. The first jet powered flight (E28/39) took place at Cranwell on 15 May 1941.

This album pays tribute to the Cranwellian women who have served in the RAF and the RAFPMNS. Forgive the author his choice of title.

This album chronicals the history of the College during the war years, when it was officially closed for officer training but continued as the Service Flying Training School, arguably one of the busiest periods of training at the College. There are a number of VVIPs who went through the College at this time, including two winners of the VC and Dambuster 'Hoppy' Hopgood whom OC 617 Sqn, Guy Gibson, called the finest pilot he ever flew with.

A tribute to all Cranwellian Flight Cadets and SFTS trained aircrew who fought and lost their lives in Bomber Command Operations during WWII. Contains hypertest links to amplifying information and video clips.

This album pays tribute to the Cranwellian Flight Cadets and SFTS trained aircrew who fought and lost their lives in operations with Coastal Command and the Overseas Commands of WWII.

The first of two albums covering the Cranwellian contribution to the Battle of Britain.

The second of two albums covering the Cranwellian contribution to the Battle of Britain. This album contains annexes of video clips and biographies relating to Battle of Britain Cranwellians.

This album pays tribute to the College SFTS trained pilots, by typical summarising examples of those who distinguished themselves during WWII and/or excelled in thir Service careers.

Still under development, we are researching College and RAF records to establish those flight cadets and GE officers who subsequently lost their lives whilst serving with the RAF between 1945 and 1979.

This booklet lists those Cranwellians who underwent training at the RAF College and lost their lives whilst serving in the RAF from 1980 till the College's 100th anniversary (5 February 2020). With the arrival of modern technology and the internet, we have been able to establish, in most instances, the squdrons with whom the Cranwellians were serving, the actual airfcraft they were flying and the circumstances at the time of their loss.

From very limited information, we have attempted to compile a list of Cranwellians who were taken Prisoners of War by German and Japenese forces during WWII.

Feedback from Brent Thistle of Canada alerted us to his partner's Grandfather, RAFVR Plt Off Ralph Farmer, who attended No 1 (War) Course at No 2 CFS. This short album centres on Ralph Farmer as a tribute to him and No 2 CFS, whose presence at RAF Cranwell is not documented in any of the College archives. Thanks to Brent for navigating us to this find.

This album is a short tribute to the men and women of 3 (Coastal) Training Unit which was a lodger unit at RAF Cranwell from July 1941 to Hanuary 1944.

Verified Roll of Honour of all Flight Cadets who lost their lives in WWII, including the aircraft, squadrons, locations and circumstances of their loss.

Verified Roll of Honour of all aircrew trained by the SFTS at Cranwell and who lost their lives in WWII, including the aircraft, squadrons, locations and circumstances of their loss.

This 20-page booklet is listing of the pre-WWII Flight Cadets who lost their lives before the outbreak of WWII. In a sense it is a Roll of Honour and a tribute to those who lost their lives primarily through flying accidents whilst in service withe the RAF.

This album contains photographs of headstones of the Cranwellians buried in the cemetry in Cranwell village. Villager, Wg Cdr (retd) Trevor Bushe voluntarily tends the grave.
